Research
We analyzed arthritis medication packaging, finding most designs failed to address seniors' needs. Key pain points included difficult-to-open containers, unclear labeling, and poor grip. We prioritized solutions like magnetic-flap access, high-contrast labeling, and ergonomic forms to reduce user frustration.
Design
The Movella box features an intuitive magnetic-flap lid designed to open with minimal pressure—eliminating the struggle of traditional tabs or seals. A matte, textured outer layer ensures a secure grip even for arthritic hands. The warm, welcoming colour palette and subtle joint-inspired illustrations visually communicate relief and mobility, creating a sympathetic unboxing experience that aligns with the medication’s purpose.
Development
The final design uses lightweight, shatter-resistant plastic with matte finishes for secure handling. Every element prioritizes comfort and independence for arthritis sufferers.
Concept
Movella rethinks arthritis medication with senior-first design. The packaging combines easy-open mechanisms, high-contrast typography, and ergonomic shaping to reduce pain and confusion during use.
